One of the main priorities for the Ministry of Economy in 2020 is the privatisation process of state property and the goal is to increase the privatisation income in the state budget, said the Georgian Minister of Economy Natia Turnava today.
Turnava said that privatisation is important for increasing employment and noted that there are many buildings, factories and other constructions, especially in the regions which should be bought by businesses and be privatised.
The goal of activating the privatisation process is to involve more state property, state assets into the economy and accelerate economic growth.
This year we had planned to privatise 60 million GEL ($20.15 mln/€18.45 mln); this plan has already been carried out”, said Turnava.
As of today, income from privatisation in the budget amounted to 73 million GEL ($24.52 mln/€22.45 mln) and it will increase up to 100 million GEL ($33.59 mln/€30.57 mln) until the end of this year.
