NATO supports Georgia’s efforts to carry out reform and thanks the country for its support to the alliance. Such a statement NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg made during a news conference in Munich.
“Black Sea is of strategic importance to NATO. The alliance has allies there – Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, and partners: Ukraine and Georgia.
We cooperate with Ukraine on security issues. Russia has annexed Crimea illegally.
Georgia is a close partner for us and we are actively working with them. NATO supports Georgia’s efforts to carry out reforms and thanks the country for its support to the alliance. We have many partners and very much appreciate this partnership, starting with New Zealand and Australia, ending with neighbors such as Finland, Sweden, Ukraine and Georgia”, – concluded Stoltenberg.
